back again we have the mediterranean flavor of the friends affkt and alberto sola. always experimenting with different ingredients like the cooker ferran adria, the guys who laid the first stone of the legendary label barraca, now present a hybrid of pop and house which will leave no one indifferent. ‘pobla loves you’ was born with the tuba of alberto cuartero, orchestra director of hoya gonzalo in albacete. marc and alberto (affkt and sola) wanted to have a typical instrument of a band and merged it with the electronic dance scene, always being faithful to his maxim of making music to dance as well as to listen. if we surround valencia, road to pobla de farnals, we passed through la canada. there are los updates, who upon hearing the organic rhythm of pobla and the work with the wind instruments, set to work with the voices. perfectly adapted to the capital of the turia river, jorge and loreto propose a valencian poem that their children have learned at school. the moon of valencia then join our dinner for four. finally, we add to our paella a bit of percussion and keyboards made in affkt, to get a main course and obtain a typical valencian plate but by adding a little chilean salt becomes international. more oriented to the dance floor, there are three rather different remixes. new union between spain and chile, with danny fiddo and felipe venegas. this couple present an elegant and deep remix with drums and vocals perfectly adapted to the current sound. moreover, the french man darlyn vlys re-interpreted >pobla loves you< with a lot of groove and percussion added. finally, affkt gives his funker version of events to complete a job that will come out by the german label international freakshow

sabb has definately become an important player on the electronic music scene over the last couple of years and his talent has now shown he will be around for many years to come.
on this fine piece of music he hooked up with good friend dark beat to create a beautyful piece of music with a quite melancholic undertone to it. this track has dc10 ibiza moments written all over it and will without a doubt get many plays this summer.
mendo delivers yet another high quality mix with his unique sound and clever remix skills. on >ballkanika< he took us by surprise by making a quite uplifting hook from the dark clarinet instrument. once again he showcases his talent for hearing what others dont and making this track an even more summer-ish tune with a hands in the air feel to it.

big with karotte, len faki, paco osuna, gregor tresher, hugo, laurent garnier and many more! amam is the new label from bright young italian producer alessio mereu, who has already made a name for himself releasing on labels like contexterrior, cmyk and toys for boys. while amams first release found alessio going solo, this time hes half the duo of pet soul boys alongside barcelona-based coyu -- you might have heard his productions and remixes that have appeared on diynamic, 2020 vision, liebe detail and saved. the debut psb single from earlier this year, >calypso soul< on hypnotone, was played by the likes of paul woolford, nick curly and italoboyz. not so bad for a couple of guys in their early 20s!

after a couple of succesful releases on her label vinyl did it and the limited series they are changing it, dia comes out with the next single on this limited one sided series (300), twelveinchesoflove. moody pads and a walking bassline simmer under sharp hi hats and playful cymbals as serene chords steep the vibe in the ambiance of a hot smoke filled room. all of this is brought to a boil as urgent vocals and whoops get slapped around by chicago uprock hand claps. jazz grooves drift back in on top, rounding out this versatile house stormer aimed squarely at those who dont need to be told twice that its time to dance

this scottish producer puts trapez ltd again on the techno map. after a couple of more housy releases on trapez ltd this release is a tougher one.&#8232,,circular star works techno a bit in a post detroit fashion... the sounds smells of industrial sites, burned rubber and has that certain sexy machine rhythm to it which we always felt was the jeff mills factor. they have little glamour about them, they are true and a direct force.

bron, a mysterious giant from the plains of canadas sub arctic region, comes out of nowhere with danksouls second release great white north. brons debut record is a truly northern take on the infectious grooves of micro house. the title track, great white north, is a jacked-up home grown classic that has been garnering a cult-like following in canada since its inception a couple years back. french avant-garde house producer le k provides a heavy handed remix, which will surely occupy a permanent space in record boxes and play lists across the globe. bron polishes off this ep with the bouncy beats and bass of splash back, followed by the soulful space hop of postcards from the prairies

right now is a bit of a lost record that has never officially been released as a single but managed to make its way onto jt donaldsons dj mix album and mark farinas house of om compilation on om records. now the record is being given the recognition it deserves by being released as a single on rebirth records with a couple of hot new mixes.

on his new album, pantha du prince, who lives in berlin and paris, claims: music slumbers in all matter, any sound, even silence, is already music. the mission, then, must be to render audible what is unheard and unheard of: black noise, a frequency that is inaudible to man. black noise often presages natural disasters, earthquakes or floods, only some animals perceive this calm before the storm. black noise is something archaic and earthy. the music on black noise balances precariously on the slippery threshold between art and nature, between techno and folklore, which lends it a certain spectral and intangible aspect. black noise also features a couple of special guests - noah lennox of animal collective sings on >stick to my side< and tyler pope of !!! and lcd soundsystem plays bass on >the splendour<.

the heels of love, the new milan based duo born from the joint between michele tessadri (fratelli riviera, bearfunk) and sapo (member of the love supremeproject on tirk) >two disco reprimands with an unhealthy penchant for slap bass, synths and vintage drum machines< has made a lot of noise lately with just a couple of works. after debuting here on mom with a huge remix that made its way up to beats in space and tsugis 2009 best of compilation they have had the first official release on david griffiths (the man behind jisco music) new label, under the shade. this one has sent them right into the chart of almost every known dj of the scene. >quiet please< is a slow, 110 bpm groovy piece of psychedelic disco that has its force in the balanced mix of the wobbling analog bassline, the p-funk guitars and the old flavouredsynth riffs reminescent of 1992 chicago house.

>i have always had close ties with fabric and this time they have really paid off. fabric were putting together a new cd called >elevator music< that featured a lot of the new uk drum n bass/house hybrid material coming out right now. they sent me a couple tracks by a new guy named julio bashmore which i really liked. literally the next night i had a gig in bristol and julio came to the show and gave me even more tracks. these were my favorite two tracks of his. i really like this mix of jungle and house. i also like this new breed of producer who isn’t scared or mired in tradition. i’m definitely feelin it!<

both sides are ace! a side is a psychedelic afro track with a great bassline coming like straight from those early house tracks we all love so much. runner up is a love boat style disco track, in perfect balance, bringing you visions of half naked girls on the sandy beaches of portugal. tiago is dropping another couple of dancefloor bombs, thats for sure!

cyber dance records unleash their fifth record entitled somewhere out on the nightside. the ep consists of four tracks introducing a new batch of artists to the cyber dance cartel, brassica, serious lover, bill ambrose and melanie houston. brassica is the music of hackney bedroom producer michael anthony wright. hes had a couple of records on dissident and has a few more lined up for some other quite well-known labels over the next year. ballo dei morti was conceived one dark christmas day in milan and features the chorus of slayers dead skin mask vocoded in italian. the track has been eagerly awaited on vinyl after several months of attention through blogs such as 20 jazz funk greats and vice magazines music blog. serious lover is the brain-child of london based producer sam ryan who fuses electro-soul influences of early jam and lewis production with a more modern, harder sound, employing vintage synths and archaic drum machines in the studio and electronic musicians for the full live show. bill ambrose has been producing music on his collection of vintage synths and drum machines for over a decade, working behind the scenes as a producer or engineer on several releases. he wrote paranoid specifically for cyber dance earlier this year. melanie houston is a dj, musician and producer from london with a passion for dark, emotional music and a previous history in berlin where she djd and contributed music for the cult techno label tresor. with influences incorporating everything from avant-garde electronics to 80s synth pop, melanies as renowned for her skills on the turntables in the mix as for her abilities in the studio.

>minimal is cool but in the long term a bit too unsexy!< this statement of marcel knopf that is by now quite old, shows his heart does not beat for one genre after all. after the first and more technoid single release from his album >dusty dance< monsieur knopf satisfies his longing for real house with single no.2 >crazy about<. r&b singer camaras soulful voice leaves quite an impression on this powerful beat. in >skinny bitches< marcel knopf processes insane nights: you just want to drink a beer in your favourite pub but then you meet a couple of friends and they take you to the worst disco in town. this high-energy track is uncompromising and must be played during peak time and not during warm-up sets or after-hours.

check the a side for a wicked carl craig alike track. three more house tracks from this underground glaswegian label. we usually only get a couple of these and they always sell out fast. tracks have already been played by claude young and gary martin.

alex agore is dropping more of that great 90s influenced house tracks as on his on his debut releases a couple of months ago. that one sold out in a flash... and this is more of that same quality! classic tracks with warm chords (think rick wade, moodymann) deep basslines and pumping percussion. 4lux delivers another quality release!

alex is back with his london home cinematic recordings - this time with a 4 track stormer! >north london cutz ep< is a homage to his inspirational north london neighborhood - where his infamous >rhythm tech< studio is based during the last couple of years - and he got it just right! he delivers a phat 4-tracker with plenty of moods to choose from!
on the a side >bellawatt< - a big room techno with a disco feel and a rumbling bassline on point with todays sound. a2 brings us >ductile< introducing a jackin chicago vibe with a more techno attitude on the beats and a pumping tribal groove on the subs. >this goes out to ron hardy he from chicago< belches the spoken word. funked up to the max! on the flip >route 277< is a warm tech house affair with a dub mood and a strong banging hihat beat and the last joint goes deep and techy with a hypnotic vocal and a haunting oriental melody, all summed up in a percussive jungle mood. overall a very strong and dj friendly release to stay in the box and a perfect follow up to alexs latest releases on arearemote, cecille and tuning spork earlier this year!

after a couple of artist eps, white is back with a new release of their well-known faces series . this time with an unknown face so far: tristen tristen has been an integral part of the white crew ever since. it was just a matter of time, until he was ready to release some tunes. everybody new, if that guy ever finishes a track, it ll be a bomb. and so it came. a track which announces a state of emergency on the floor. with deep chords and strings, which scream so high right at ya, that you can t resist dancing. on the flipside edward puts out a melancholic ravemonster. but still in edward style! minimal and housy, with a slightly touch of a jazzy trance. but always with an eye for the deep. a track like a dream-like scuba dive... once again edward proofs, that he is one of the most outstanding young producers in the game, right now.

after the success of the re-edits vol.1 the messengers (kev beadle & darren moss) are back with a couple of peak-time floor fillers for vol.2.
>first left< is a huge funky fusion bomb that will be sure to move any crowd. looping up the classic herbie tune >just around the corner< the boys have added some percussive flavours to give it a summery edge. side 2 is their rework of ray barrettos version of stevie wonders >pastime paradise<. extending the intro and giving it an extra little kick the tune builds into the perfect singalong tune for those bbq afternoons and summer nights.

as the european summer draws to a close, the next rekluse release takes a brief change in direction and offers up something a little lighter to accompany the last of the hazy rays. after the previous electronic madness from simon stokes, mr copy, loco & jam and kiko we are joined for this release by la based artist erphun.

to complete the package mr henry von (joint label owner of rekluse with fergie) has reworked tu sueno, giving it some of his trademark bite and re-marrying the vocal to the breakdown, keeping things shaking until there is no where left to go but to bring that beat straight back in...

white label 12 inch on the hipster club tip. called a career making record by switch ? >somebody get pregnant< is a nasty, throbbing cut aimed straight for the club. it s a tune that s been floating around since 2008, and has everyone from mad decent (who tried to sign it) to three six mafia (who tried to buy the hook) clamouring for a piece. major lazer also featured the tune on their new essential mix for bbc radio 1. acapella and instrumental included as well. on the b-side, ninjasonik gives up a couple of cuts that won t be seeing proper release due to some sampling issues : >shoot the lazer<, a raunchy club tune that jacks the opening to a certain animated movie classic, and >daylight<, a bootie remix of the matt and kim song by the same name. rounding out the 12 inch is >stir<, a minimal dancefloor tune with stuttering, drunken style vocal takes. sweet!

3rd release on klimaks comes from the russian talent andrey loud. releases on craft, robotronic and starter + an award for best techno dj in russia has brought mr. loud to the a-league of tech and techno over the past couple of years. we are proud to present the heaven officer and bonus track 2 the moon on klimaks. both solid and funky beasts with an irresistable melody hook on top - both hitting that fine line between progressive and techy house the perfect blend for the primetime hours. the renowned milton channels from colombia delivers his usual quality stamp on the track making it more energetic and crowdpleasing with the great drops and builds...

lyrical wit is in abundance, magnified by russell maels soaring falsetto gymnastics. failure with the opposite sex is a recurring topic, from the adolescent fumblings of amateur hour to the resignation of falling in love with myself again. its easy to see why the teenage morrissey was a dedicated fan. the track that really grabbed the publics attention was this town aint big enough for both of us, a classic stomper with a gravity defying melody. 1974s kimono my house is the sound of sparks firing on all four cylinders, providing one of the most curious and comical albums of the 70s. freddie mercury wasnt the only operatic rocker on the block in the mid 70s. the genre was pretty much taken to its logical conclusion by ron and russell mael, the decidedly odd couple who formed the nucleus of sparks. dropping references to immanuel kant and yehudi menuhin, these boys werent your average dumb rock band. kimono my house was their third album, recorded after the brothers had relocated from la to london (where tolerance of tongue in cheek pomp pop was obviously much higher).
